Hughes recently announced his first UK solo acoustic tour featuring incredible acoustic interpretations of songs from his remarkable musical career. This is bound to enthral not only hardcore fans but anyone with even a passing interest in the life and times of a modern day rock legend.

Dates include:

November
14 - Leicester Square Theatre - London, UK
15 - Glee Club - Birmingham, UK
16 - Glee Club - Cardiff (Wales), UK
20 - Glee Club - Nottingham, UK
22 - Band On The Wall - Manchester, UK

According to a press release, "Glenn Hughes is a true original. No other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. That astonishing voice is Hughes‚ calling card. He's known as a singer's singer. Stevie Wonder once called Hughes his favourite white singer.

Hughes, a native of Cannock, England, absorbed all kinds of influences, including early British hard rock, The Beatles and, most importantly, American soul and R&B. The sleek Motown sound from Detroit and the gritty Stax/Volt sound from Memphis left their mark on him.

The first important band Hughes was a member of that achieved notable success was Trapeze. He later joined trailblazing Deep Purple with Ritchie Blackmore and co. In the halcyon days, Purple headlined at the famous California Jam in front of 250,000 and toured the world on their own Boeing jet plane, «The Starship». All of this was accompanied by cocaine psychosis, crack addiction and other excesses, before Hughes survived a clean-up-or-die crisis, and embarked on a reinvigorated solo career enriched by a survivor‚s wisdom.
One of the most important collaborations in Hughes‚ career was when he began working with Black Sabbath and Tony Iommi on his first solo album «Seventh Star». Glenn's latest album, "First Underground Nuclear Kitchen", is the latest chapter in an extraordinary musical evolution, and is quite possibly the most compelling and positive musical statement in a distinguished career.

2010 saw Glenn recording and touring in a new supergroup project, Black Country Communion with guitar star Joe Bonamassa, keys player Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) and drummer Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin legend John Bonham. The band released their debut album produced by Kevin Shirley.
